Augusto "Boboy" Syjuco Jr. runs for May 2016 Presidental Elections in the Philippines


Augusto "Boboy" Syjuco Jr. (born December 11, 1942- )  is running for the May 2016 Presidental elections in the Philippines. Syjuco is a former Representative of the 2nd District of Iloilo and the Director General of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

Proposed Projects and Advocacies
Augusto Syjuco Jr. envisions the Philippines to be one of countries among to have the fastest internet in the world. At present, our country has one of the slowest internet speed in the world.

Another problem Syjuco wants solved is the traffic in the Philippines. One of the causes of traffic, he says, is parking problems. So if he gets elected as President of the Philippines, he plans to put up parking buildings to ease out the traffic situation.

Education
He finished grade school at Ateneo de Manila University and high school at Peekskill Military Academy in New York. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration as cum laude at the University of the East in 1963. He pursued his Master of Business Administration degree at Wharton School, University of California in 1964.

He also achieved his Doctor of Humanities in Public Service at Lyceum Northwestern University and Doctor of Industrial Technology at Eulogio "Amang" Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology in 2006.


Government Experience
He was twice elected as Representative of the Second District of Iloilo, in May 1998 and May 2001. He was able to legislate two bills: RA 9189, Overseas Voting Act (OVA) and RA 9225, Philippine Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2003.

He was appointed by President Fidel V. Ramos as Member, Board of Directors, Development Bank of the Philippines on July 3, 1996 and now he is concurrently the Chairman of the Development Bank of the Philippines Management Corporation. He was also elected Vice President of the 1971 Constitutional Convention.
